I was visiting from California and tried this place for the first time. It was soo good and tastee. If CA had one of these spots I would definitely go often 10/10
A bit out of our way but Went for the first time a couple weeks ago out of curiosity. Cute small stand. I think they've been there forever. Delicious! Nice folks. So glad we went. Will go again. Best Banana split I've had in years. Not sure if it's ice cream or custard, but whatever it is was fantastic.

This place has been around since I was a kid and the flavor of the ice cream is "Exactly the Same" it's Delicious!!! The Best in Town!!! As a matter of fact the beef hotdogs also has the same flavor that I remember as a kid and yes they will make it Chicago Style...... This is the "Only place" that has these lightly salted pecans not just salted they're a little oily if you know what I mean?! And trust me I've searched!!! High and low in the Highways and Byways to find these pecans but to no avail......,I've found salted but that hint of oil is what I'm speaking of!!!!! This is a Nostalgic memory of my childhood so of course I'm always attempting to recapture that flavor..... My Disclaimer: let me explain how much I Love Pecans!!!! I'm going to say it Again "I LOVE PECANS"!!!! Now imagine the perfect combination of salted pecans and sweet ice cream Sweet and lightly salted is the perfect combination for me!!! I applaud these guys for for remaining the same for over 40+ years!!!! If you're ever in the Downtown Milwaukee area you're very close, maybe 5min away don't cheat yourself treat yourself to something Great!!! You won't be disappointed!!! This is absolutely MY FAVORITE place to stop for ice cream, nachos, chili cheese dogs, wings, and more. The owner is usually there so you're sir to receive good service, and the quality of the ice cream is top notch! Be sure to check out the lemon ice cream only served on Sundays, it tastes about 100 times better than it sounds!!
I had a great experience at Tastee Twist, I think I got the turtle ice cream sundae and more than filled my sweet tooth fix for the day! The staff provides great service too, very friendly and quick to fill orders. This trip I only came for the ice cream but know they also serve food. I'll have to stop over again for lunch sometime. They do have a parking lot, which seems to fill up fast; nearby street parking is available too. Spots don't stay full for too long, with the quick service!
Im really close to getting up and going to tastee twist thanks to yelp! I stumbled upon a review of Tastee Twist and i thought to myself what is Tastee Twist? In this neighborhood i should know it! I remember now.... How could i forget? I grew up eating tastee twist. It doesn't look like much its a little stand on a corner across from a church next door to a trailer rental place and kaddy corner from YMCA. It is on the north side and its easy to miss so you have probably never had it. I don't believe that there is a phone number to call or anything. Its there its one of those things you know? When it is there its there when its not its not and word of mouth helps you understand the coming and goings in between time. I would walk here from my house or school to grab some ice cream and maybe a hot dog...when i did eat hot dogs many moons ago. The ice cream is always so soft and creamy. They serve snacks as well. When i think of Tastee Twist i become overwhelmed with nostalgia. My child hood creeps in and the smells of summer take over my senses. So i have not been here in years is it open i have no idea? Im glad that i ran across this review. I will take my kids and maybe they will enjoy it as much as i did at their age. Should you go? Yes! Will you like it? I have no idea, but ice cream is usually ice cream. Who can turn that down?
I go here every time I come home to Milwaukee. I love the twinkle coat on the ice cream. They changed the recipe a little but it's still good. Wish I could take some back with me when I leave.
I haven't been here in about two years and I am not sure if it is still around. This is my favorite ice cream place behind Kopp's and you might not even notice this little shop if you walked past it. The turtle sundaes are probably the best I've ever had. The only downside is that they only serve the lemon ice cream on Sundays which sucks because it is really good. I like that it is the type of place where you order then leave meaning it is impossible to go inside. It is more like a newsstand, but instead of news, you get ice cream.
